#HAPPYTAIL Archie
We have a great update on TCR alumni Archie! Here is his story:
"Last November, I responded to a call to a need for foster homes for Special Needs cats and ended up with 18 month old Astro. We drove out to the Ayr Vet Clinic and met a scared little orange cat hiding in the back of the carrier. Little Astro was underweight and a bit mangy looking when we took him in – he had been rescued from a KW area motel room where there had been a 25 cat hoarding case. He had a bad case of fleas and needed some meds.
During his 2 week quarantine he hung out in my home office & we bonded. He stopped hiding after a day & quickly found my lap as a fun place to sleep. He would also lounge on my desk where he made a few unauthorized appearances on Zoom calls. Once he was out of quarantine he quickly explored the rest of the house & met the two resident cats – Maxwell & Jackson – also TCR alumni. Jackson, the less friendly of the two, had not embraced the prior foster cats, but Astro he seemed to accept right away.
Astro quickly became part of the family & it was with a heavy heart and some procrastinating that I wrote his adoption bio. After some family soul searching, we quickly rescinded the bio before it was posted & decided to adopt Astro. He was officially ours after being our foster for 4 weeks & we were thrilled. But, he wasn’t an Astro. To us he was Archie or Archibald if he’s misbehaving.
Archie gets along really well with everyone. They chase each other, wrestle & snuggle on a regular basis. He has often got the zoomies & loves to play fetch with a stuffed woollen mouse. Archie is well on his way to full health & is very handsome. But he still picks only one lap to hang out on, the one he bonded with during his quarantine - mine!"
Thank you so much for sharing this story with us Tony, we are so glad Archie has found a home with you and Jackson and Maxwell.
