Merlin’s Happy Tail

Merlin was adopted in August 2021. He came with medical and behavioural issues. He didn’t like anyone to get near him, including the vet. The vet recommended giving Merlin gabapentin before visiting the vet to calm him down. The new adopter got in touch with TCR’s Post-Adoption Team and started working with a feline behaviouralist. By learning about Merlin’s aggressions, she was able to desensitize Merlin and slowly gain his trust.

After working on his behavioural issues with the behaviouralist for over a year, she can now pet him and even kiss him goodnight! The vet has seen a significant improvement in Merlin’s behaviour and now no longer need to give him gabapentin when visiting the vet!

Merlin gained some new feline housemates, and his affection for them is obvious. He has come out of his shell even more since his friends came into his life!
