Jorge’s Happy Tail

In early 2021 I lost my 2-year-old cat, Billy, in an accident and I was absolutely devastated. I learned about TCR through social media and decided to volunteer in honour of him and to heal my broken heart. Fast forward a few months later, I was volunteering at a PetSmart adopt-a-thon event and noticed that the only cat left was a 10-year-old, senior kitty named Teemu. He was facing the wall and was so sad to be there, all alone, it broke my heart.  

 I made up my mind that if no one was going to adopt him by the end of the day, I refused to let him be alone another night. I only planned to volunteer that day but I ended up being a cat mom again to the chattiest, sweetest, and silliest old man. It was the best, split second decision of my life and he is now named Jorge.

I hope to continue volunteering with TCR and making more memories.
