Donating Supplies
Give your used cat supplies an extra life.
We accept donations of gently used cat supplies at our Volunteer Centre located at 4229C Dundas St. West, Etobicoke. Your donations will given to our volunteer foster parents to use with the cats in our care. We also partner with other volunteer cat groups to share surplus items.
Please note that the Volunteer Centre is run by volunteers, and we normally schedule one volunteer per shift.

Donating Supplies FAQ
If you wish to donate cat supplies to us, please review the relevant FAQs below to ensure that your supplies can be accepted.
Items we accept for donations include:
- Cat litter
- Pet water fountains and filters
- Scratch pads, posts, trees and cat condos
- Cat food and treats (up to 6 months past the expiry date) including lickable cat treat tubes
- Toys
- Hard plastic cat carriers
- Cat beds
- Other items like bowls, mats, brushes etc.
We understand that this is a judgement call. If a cat bed has holes in it, and if a scratching post is tattered beyond use, we likely cannot make use of it. If you have an item you are unsure about, please email a photo to vc@torontocatrescue.ca.
You can certainly donate new supplies, but for many people donating money is a better option. Because we’re a registered charity, if you give through our donations page we can issue a tax receipt for your contribution, and direct your funds to our areas of highest need.

Kitten supplies are also in high demand, including Royal Canin kitten or mother and baby cat food, Miracle Nipples (original size) and Kitten Milk Replacement (KMR).
Yes, however bags kept sealed for freshness are ideal.
Yes, up until 6 months after expiry date. We use the food for cats in our foster care and share with other organizations who can make use of it.
No. We don’t use these items often and currently have a large supply of extra linens.
Generally not. Used litter boxes have scratches on the inside, causing sanitation to become difficult between foster cats. That said, if you have a litter box that is in nearly new condition, we can accept these. Boxes that are lidded are especially useful.
It’s difficult for us to accept most medications or medical supplies, either new or used, for safety reasons. However, we do accept the following items:
- Sterile syringes- 1ml, 3ml, 5ml, 10ml, 20ml
- Mirtazapine – liquid or pills
- Revolution, Nexgard, Bravecto
- Sealed, unflavoured Pedialyte
Yes. We’re located in a small strip mall, and parking is available. We have two reserved spots right in front of the centre.
We currently only have one Volunteer Centre location for donated item drop-offs. Email us at vc@torontocatrescue.ca with your postal code and donation inquiry so we can try to connect you with other rescues that are closer to you.
No. Unfortunately, at this time we’re not equipped to pick up donations.

If so, send an email to our Volunteer Centre at vc@torontocatrescue.ca to set up a date and time to drop off your supplies.
