Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Volunteer

To help secure vital funding for Toronto Cat Rescue by identifying, applying for, and managing grants from trusts and foundations that align with our mission.
Help Us Make a Difference
As a Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Volunteer, you will help Toronto Cat Rescue grow its funding base by seeking opportunities from grant-making organizations. Your contributions will enable us to expand our programs and continue rescuing cats in need.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Research and prospect grant opportunities from trusts and foundations that align with Toronto Cat Rescue’s mission and programs.
Draft, edit, and submit compelling grant applications and proposals, supported by the Fund Development Manager.
Build and maintain relationships with grant administrators and foundation representatives.
Track grant application deadlines and reporting requirements, ensuring timely submissions and follow-ups.
Work collaboratively with the fundraising team to align grant applications with organizational goals and priorities.
Qualifications & Expectations
Strong writing and research skills, with an ability to write persuasive and mission-driven proposals.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related field is an asset.
Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets) and comfortable using online research tools.
A commitment of approximately 6-10 hours per month, with specific time-based project deadlines.
Training new volunteers takes time. As such, we ask that applicants be available to commit to at least 6 months of their time.
