TCR Hits a Fundraising Home Run! ⚾️

Charity Softball Events helped us put the fun in fundraiser at this super special sporting event

We recently partnered with an awesome organization called Charity Softball Events to host a softball game, with all proceeds going to TCR!

Playing four games in total, the tournament-style event in Coronation Park, Toronto featured four teams. Highlights included two players hitting home runs on their first ever softball at bats, and a team captain giving one of those players a brand new softball bat in celebration of their achievement.

Team Purple was victorious in a thrilling final game, triumphing over worthy opponents Team Red with a score of 23-12. Congratulations to all participating teams.

An impressive 60 players took part in the game, with dozens more supporters in attendance.

Overhead, the CNE air show provided an unexpected but welcome bonus to the day, making our charity game even more exciting!

But of course, this event was much more than just a softball game. It was about bringing together a special community of people who care, and who want to make a difference and create a safer, kinder world for all living beings.

Event organizer Derek reflected:

"It was truly heartening to see so many people come out to support TCR and FKD. When we come together for something bigger than ourselves, the event takes on a special energy. The game was competitive, but everyone was united by a common purpose - to make our community a kinder place for both people and the cats and animals who share our streets."
