TCR Celebrates our Volunteers
Ricardo Ciociano
I’ve been fortunate enough to volunteer in a couple different positions with TCR. When I first moved to Toronto a few years ago my partner urged me to apply to be a foster home and I found the experience to be really rewarding. It was especially nice to have a furry friend around while working from home during the pandemic. Sadly, I had to stop when I moved to Montreal for graduate school last fall. As COVID-19 worsened, I worried about what this meant for organizations like TCR that rely heavily on in person activities.
Earlier this year TCR began recruiting volunteers to work in the organization's internal and public policies, the field I'm currently studying. Through this opportunity, I have been able to learn about the amazing size and impact of the rescue and the many carefully constructed processes and protocols that allow it to help such a large volume of cats. I am thrilled to have the chance to help TCR operate and grow, supporting the amazing network of volunteers that give their time to rescue and care for so many cats in need.
