Help Save Senior Cats by becoming a monthly donor!
Monthly donors provide the reliable income we need to Save Senior Cats. As a committed No-Kill charity we do whatever’s needed to Save Senior Cats - can you help us?
Yoda’s Story
Yoda came to us from a rural shelter unable to look after him. He’s a beautiful boy with a lovely soul, but at 15 years old he’s definitely one of our older cats!
When he arrived at Toronto Cat Rescue he was diagnosed with serious dental disease due to stomatitis, which is a painful condition that causes severe inflammation to the mouth and gums. He needed many vet visits and a full mouth extraction, and he’ll be on steroid medication for life to keep his condition under control.
Saving Senior Cats like Yoda is a challenge, but as a No-Kill charity we’re committed to the this goal! It costs on average $1,500 more to Save a Senior Cat like Yoda, and they stay in our program for lots longer, which also adds to the costs.
Yoda has been with us for 8 months now, and because of our donors is now ready for his forever home!
The regular funds we receive from monthly donors gives us the security to Save Senior Cats like Yoda - we really couldn’t do it without you!
Simon’s Story
Simon also came from a rural shelter that couldn’t support him. At 17 years old the shelter believed they needed to euthanise him, but that’s where Toronto Cat Rescue stepped in!
When Simon got to us we diagnosed him with stage 3 kidney disease. He needed expensive medical care to get him ready for his new home, and will need medical management for the rest of his life. He’s a lovely little guy and very happy after his successful treatment. So happy that his foster parent tells us he coos happily ‘like a dove’ when receiving rubs to his neck and back!
By joining us as a monthly donor you’ll be helping Save Senior Cats like Simon by helping us provide the expensive treatment they often need, and that other shelters can’t provide. Senior cats’ medical treatment is often very costly, and Toronto Cat Rescue relies on regular, reliable donations to provide this vital and urgent care
Every dollar counts, and your contribution will directly impact cats like Simon’s journey towards recovery.
Simon is now ready for his forever home all thanks to incredible donors like you!
Help us rescue more cats
Just this week Toronto Cat Rescue has helped 15 cats leave uncrowded, unsafe and scary situations, by placing them in warm, safe homes.
And guess what? We’ll be doing the same thing next week and the week after that!
This is harder for our senior cats though, who need longer and more expensive medical care, and are harder to find homes for because of their age. That doesn’t mean we’ll give up though! As a No-Kill charity we’re here to save every cat, no matter the age or cost.
If this sounds like an important goal to you then please consider becoming a monthly donor to help Save Senior Cats!
