Intake Coordinator
Goal
To process the admission of cats entering the TCR foster program from shelter partners and other rescue sources

The primary role of the Intake Coordinator is to communicate with intake sources, intake team and Operations Manager to secure appropriate foster placement for cats in need of rescue. The Intake Team’s main goal is to place cats with the foster home best-suited for their needs as quickly as possible.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Understand the foster resources of the organization and capacity for care at any given time in order to arrange well-matched placement for new cat intakes
Aim to transfer cats from the shelter and other rescue sources into TCR program within 48 hours or less
Collaborate with other intake coordinators and Operations Manager to ensure smooth and successful transition for new cats entering the program
Arrange transportation with transport team to move the cats into foster homes
Work in unison with Foster Coordinators to ensure medical and behavioural needs of the cats are clearly communicated
Process entries of new cats in TCR’s spreadsheets
Ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of each cat’s profile in our databases
Qualifications & Expectations
Must be 18 years or older
Self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented, and able to effectively work independently and within a team framework
Comfortable using Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Spreadsheets
Have daily access to email and able to respond within a 2 hour window
Excellent verbal and written skills, including clear and effective communication with others (staff, public, volunteers) that is professional, respectful, positive and compassionate
Capable of balancing multiple priorities, with limited resources, in an often fast-paced environment
The ability to make rational decisions and be professional in an emotional environment/situation.
Able to take direction professionally and follow-through on assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Customer service or forward-facing role experience is an asset
Training new Volunteers takes time. The role of the Intake Coordinator will take upwards of 1 year to learn. New candidates will start off in an admin position on the intake team and work up to the Intake Coordinator role.
