How to e-Transfer

After filling out the adoption contract, you will have to pay the adoption fee before bringing your new cat home with you. Follow these steps and tips to ensure it is done correctly.

Do you e-Transfer all the time? Here is the short version of what you need to know:

  • Send the fee to finance@torontocatrescue.ca

  • We have direct deposit set up, so you do not need to make a security question. If you have to, just put:

Please note: all bank’s online banking is set up slightly differently, so this is a general overview

  • An Interac e-Transfer is a way t move money between personal or business accounts within participating banks in Canada.

It is essentially putting money directly from your bank account into Toronto Cat Rescue’s bank account.

  • You will have to have access to your online banking, either on a web browser or on an app.

Once logged in, find the section to e-transfer. Please note this is not a payment or a transfer, it should be in its own category.

  • Before e-transferring, most banks ask you to set up a payee. Some banks allow you to do this step directly in the e-tranfer section.

The Payee will be Toronto Cat Rescue, using the email address: finance@torontocatrescue.ca

  • Now that you have TCR as a payee, you are ready to send an e-Transfer. Find the section to send an Interac e-Transfer, add TCR as the payee/recipient and enter the amount you would like to transfer.

The amount should have been discussed in the adoption email. Usually the fee is $225 for a kitten up to 8 months, adults are $200 (from 8 months to 8 years) and seniors are pay what you can (8+ years).
