The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee at Toronto Cat Rescue is comprised of a diverse group of people representing all levels of the organization including volunteers, staff and Board members. The purpose of the committee is to identify and work to eliminate systemic barriers to participating in TCR (Equity), ensure that TCR is representative of the communities where we work (Diversity) at all levels of the organization and that individuals representing historically marginalized groups (due to race, disability, sexual orientation, Indigenous identity, gender, age, etc.) feel welcome, included and valued members of Toronto Cat Rescue’s community (Inclusion).
The EDI Committee at Toronto Cat Rescue would like to hear from people who interact with Toronto Cat Rescue. Whether you are an adopter, volunteer, donor, or other interested person, we would like to hear from you if you felt:
you might have been treated differently or unfairly due to citizenship, race, place of origin, ethnic origin, colour, ancestry, disability, age, creed, sex/pregnancy, family status, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, receipt of public assistance (in housing), and record of offences (in employment).
our practice prevented you from participating in our programs (e.g. use of technology, telephone interviews, questions at interviews, etc.).
someone displayed bias in their treatment of you.
