Urgent Help Is Needed For Sweet Pea

Rescue In Action Update, April 16, 2016: Sweet Pea has been adopted!!!

Sweet Pea adopted from Pet Valu’s National Adoption Weekend Event! Forever Mom on the left, amazing Foster Mom on the right.

Rescue In Action Update: Sweet Pea is doing incredibly well! Her front paw is healing and she is a real trooper with her physio. She loves her daily supervised roaming of the house (especially sleeping on a sunny spot on the carpet) and playing/interacting with the other kitties in her foster home. She is a great snuggler with her humans while they watch TV. She is an incredibly gentle girl but shows no mercy to her toy mouse! She took a while to adjust to her bandage – kept ripping them off!! Thank you to everyone who has supported her journey thus far!

Sweet Pea was transferred urgently to TCR yesterday with severe injuries caused by a fall from a 12th floor apartment building balcony. She is another terribly sad reminder of the dangers of balconies.

The fall broke Sweet Pea’s jaw and she has injuries to her chest and lungs. Her owners could not afford to treat her injuries, so she was surrendered to Toronto Animal Services before being transferred to Toronto Cat Rescue. TCR is getting her all the care that she needs but her surgeries will be expensive as they require the help of a specialist.

Sweet Pea’s vet bills are estimated at $2,000 and the road to recovery will be a long one.  This girl is very sweet even through the pain. Please help us get Sweet Pea back to health by making a donation today.
