Cat Holiday Safety Tip: No Kissing Under The Mistletoe.
Popular plants like poinsettias, mistletoe and holly are extremely toxic if ingested by your cat, and can cause anything from gastrointestinal upset to cardiac problems to comas to death. If you cannot avoid having them in your home, please make sure you keep them far out of reach. As well, remember to avoid using chemicals in the water under a well-anchored Christmas tree. #felinesafety #catchristmas #holidaysafety #besafehavefun
Lucy would love to start her new life with you! She is spayed, vaccinated, and born December 17th, 2016. She is seeking an adult-only family with no other pets. Her adoption fee is $100 vs. $175 for the month of December. ***
Lucy is an adorable cat who is sweet, obviously very cute, a bit quirky and lots of fun! She is very loyal and is looking for a best buddy. Though shy at first, once she gets to know you, you will be the centre of her universe.
She is a cat that enjoys attention but is also ok on her own. Lucy is a gentle girl and doesn’t mind being picked up for short periods of time for a quick cuddle. At the moment she is not a lap cat, but she does like to be close by and over time has become very friendly. The more time she spends in foster care, the more affectionate she becomes with her foster mom.
Lucy’s favourite activity is to sit by her human and be brushed and petted. She also enjoys interactive games with the feather toy and laser pointer. She loves to climb her scratching post tower and relax on her cozy heating pad. She is petite at 8 pounds and has really interesting markings: tabby stripes, leopard spots and orange flecks in her brown fur. She is neat and clean and an absolute joy to have around.
The ideal home for Lucy would be a quieter place that accepts her the way she is. A person or people who don’t mind making the extra effort to encourage her while she learns to trust her new family. Spending time with Lucy in foster care has brought a lot of joy and Lucy’s foster mom knows that joy will travel with Lucy wherever she goes.
Like many cats, Lucy came into foster care with some digestive issues. Now that she is eating a raw cat food diet, she is happy and healthy. She eats 2 to 3 meals a day and will likely need to stay on this diet for the rest of her life. Raw food is purchased at the pet food store, kept in the freezer, and is similar in cost to canned food. It’s a pretty simple routine and it has been life changing for her.
Are you ready to meet the cutest little kitty around?! Lucy is excited to find her forever family and start a lovely new life with you!
