Foster Homes

TCR does not have a shelter, we have a network of loving foster homes. Our cats are placed in our volunteer foster homes to await their adoption, which is why foster homes are such an important part of TCR’s program. Each foster home space that we have available represents one more cat that we can assist. All of our volunteers are important, but without foster homes and adoptions, we would not be able to rescue any cats. Our foster homes are always full because there is an endless need for them!

We always need Foster Homes for cats or kittens! If you are interested in literally saving and making lives better become a TCR foster parent.

Temporary Recovery Homes are also needed. Do you want to help the kitties, but just don’t know how or can’t commit to being a foster parent full time? Please become a temporary/recovery home. You will not be conducting adoptions from your home, you will only be helping a kitty get healthy. TCR needs people that are willing to take sick or recovering kitties into their home for a short term stay (short as one week, as long as four weeks). You will have to be comfortable giving medications, eg: pills, eye drops, etc… You will need a nice cozy room or area in your home that is quiet, away from your own cats if you have any, so kitty can happily get well in peace. Lots of support will be given from the TCR store and foster home coordinators.

PLEASE NOTE: Toronto Cat Rescue cats may be moved from your home to a store or to an Adopt-A-Thon in order to help them be adopted. This decision is made by the executive members of TCR.

I just got off the phone with one of the most amazing TCR coordinator ever. Her name is Crystal, from the 10 minute conversation we had, she was able to answer all of the questions I had with a sincere and reassuring attitude. This is my first time fostering a cat but she made me want to do it continuously. She was genuinely a wonderful and loving person. So if you’re thinking of fostering, don’t hesitate one bit! You have a great network of support from people like Crystal.

I work at one of the petsmarts in Brampton and I’m interested in becoming a foster home. I sent my application in! Hope to hear from you soon!! I’ve always wanted to be a foster parent but I was living at my mom’s place now I’m out on my own and can become one!
