Bowl-A-Thon For Cats 2013

tcr_bowlathon_button_2013We had such a success last year raising over $15,000 for kitties, that this year we want to raise the bar and go for more! We’ve booked more lanes and we need your help to fill them – so mark it in your calenders, start your teams and tell everyone you know!

Toronto Cat Rescue’s 9th Annual Bowl-a-thon for Cats!
Saturday May 25th 2013

Registration: noon – 1pm
Bowling: 1 – 4pm

Sign up and be put on a team or create your own team of up to six people!

Each participant must collect donations of $70 or more.
There will be prizes for participants with the 15 highest pledges and more!

Registration begins at noon. Bowling begins at 1pm.

Participants will be supplied with a lane, shoes, a screenprinted T-shirt, Cat Tail and Ears!
(Everyone is asked to wear the T-shirt and Cat Tail – Ears are optional!)

There will be different varieties of Veggie and Vegan pizza, pop and cupcakes for everyone.
A snack bar is available for participants to purchase other food and drink items themselves.

Corporate sponsors are invited to sponsor lanes or donate prizes & advertise at the event!

Grab Your Cat Carrier! Adopt-A-Thon Saturday!

ethan1Join us on Saturday, February 16th from 10am – 6pm for an adopt-a-thon with Pet Valu! Please welcome a new furry family member (or two!) into your home. There will be lots of kitties waiting to meet you outside of their foster homes.

Our adoption fee at the event only is $100 for cats over 6 months, $175 for kittens under 6 months, but $250 for a pairs of kittens under 6 months of age. The adoption fee ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the medical attention they need, are spayed or neutered, vaccinated (and receive a rabies vaccination if age appropriate). Our fee also includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance.

We will have lots of kittens and cats waiting for their forever families to adopt them at the adopt-a-thon! Please come and adopt your new best friend(s). REMEMBER: When you adopt a kitty from Toronto Cat Rescue you save two lives; the one you adopt and the one you make room for!

Adoption fees at the events only: $175 for kittens under 6 months, $100 for cats over 6 months, and $250 if adopting two kittens under 6 months, payable by cash only. This includes 1st set of FVRCP vaccine, rabies vaccine if age appropriate, spay/neuter, and 6 weeks of free pet insurance.

Help raise money to rescue cats like Nefrititi!

With just two weeks to go, our Toronto Cat Rescue team has raised 75% of our $25,000 goal in the Scotiabank Marathon taking place on October 14th! If you are interested in joining us to raise money for a great cause and have fun at the same time – please fill in the online form below for further details.

The marathon is for all levels of fitness - you can choose from a 5K walk/run/jog, a half marathon, or a full marathon. Whichever you choose, you can take part in the Charity Challenge and raise pledges for Toronto Cat Rescue through friends and family.

Spaces are almost all filled for the event – only 1,500 spots are left and that’s to share between hundreds of charities, as well as those people participating in the marathon without the charity challenge. Procrastinators may not be able to register if you wait too long (and we would love to have you!).

TCR Desperate for Foster Homes with No Pets

Toronto Cat Rescue has a growing need for volunteer foster families with no other pets in their home.  Most of our foster cats get along very well with other animals, but currently we have several that really prefer to be on their own to receive lots of human love!  We are seeking foster homes in downtown Toronto, the GTA and Kitchener.

This is a great opportunity for:

1. Families who have never had a pet before (or it has been some time since you have had an animal) to see if a furry friend will match your lifestyle.

2. College or university students seeking a study-buddy during the school year.

3. Someone who is moving or traveling in the near (or distant) future and cannot adopt an animal long-term, but would love the temporary companionship a kitty can offer.

THE KITTIES NEED YOU! If you are able to provide a safe, loving home for a cat who is sensitive to having other animals around, please apply today by filling in our Foster Home Application. We will always be able to fill your home with a purr-fect companion as there are always many, many cats in need of rescuing!!
