Parkdale/King West
Toronto Cat Rescue is currently working on TNR projects in the Parkdale/King West area in four different colonies. Kathrine is the TCR trapper who heads the project and is very committed. Kathrine volunteered to take over the role last year when the previous TCR trapper moved out of province. A big thank you goes out Kathrine for continuing the TNR efforts in this area.
Kathrine has organized a group of sixteen feeder volunteers who take care of the kitties and ensure they never have to go digging through dumpsters again! There are four cat colonies in this area that are feed and given water by the volunteers. Shelters are also build for shade in the summer and warmth in the winter. The volunteers are also on watch for any new cat to come to the colony for food, as well as any injured cats that need vet help.
In addition to trapping and recovering and organizing trappers, feeders and recovery homes, Kathrine also has to be an incredible fundraiser to pay for the cats food and care. Much trapping is still needed to get these colonies finished, but funds are short. Please donate anything you can towards the Parkdale initiative via CanadaHelps.
