The Dufferin-Eglinton colony has been a TCR project since 2007. It’s not so much a colony as it is many, many colonies all in the “Duff-Eg” area. Since 2007 TCR has trapped over 100 cats throughout this community, and while many have been TNR’d – almost as many have also been adoptable and taken into our foster program. We have trapped and TNR’d at over 10 different colonies, all within blocks of each other. Because this is an ongoing project whereby we continue to move through new blocks to ensure that no new cats spill into managed colonies, fundraising is an ongoing project. “Tilt”, one of TCR’s best success stories, was rescued from the colony, pictured above, in 2010. He had been shot with a BB gun and had two bullets lodged in his abdomen when he was rescued, causing him to have some lameness on one side of his body (which he later regained strength in at his foster home). He also had a bad ear infection when living outside which left him with a slight, permanent head tilt. This charming boy found his forever home in 2011, and we are so happy that he is now living it up rather than fighting for survival outside.
