Some Things Get Better With Age – Adopt A Senior!

Just as people are living longer than they did 50 years ago, so are cats. Most people are reluctant to adopt a senior cat due to the fear of them passing away too soon.

Did you know that well cared for indoor cats can live to the age of 20 years? Cats are considered seniors when they turn eight years old!  So why not consider adopting a senior kitty this March?  Senior cats are some of the hardest to find forever homes for, so when you adopt a senior cat you are truly saving a life.  For the month of March ALL of our senior kitties have a reduced adoption fee of $100 (vs. $175) in an effort to help them get adopted into their warm and loving forever homes. View their profiles now!

Reasons to adopt a senior cat:

- A senior cat’s personality has already developed, so you’ll know if he or she is a good fit for your family.

- A senior cat already knows basic household etiquette like litter box use and do’s/dont’s of playing.

- Senior cats are often content to just relax in your company, unlike younger cats that can get up to mischief.

- Senior cats make great napping buddies during the cold winter months.

- If you have a senior cat already, another cat of similar age can be less stressful for him/her than a young kitten (careful introduction of course).

- Senior cats are generally less demanding than younger cats so if you work long hours, they will be more forgiving of the time left alone.

- Again, senior cats are truly some of the hardest to find homes for, so when you adopt a senior cat, you’re truly saving a life!
