Brown Tabby Goodness!!
Leslie Feist is a sweet little girl. She is always ready to play. She LOVES playing with ping pong balls especially when her foster dad shoots them around with a hockey stick! She knows it’s time to play when the hockey stick comes out. She also loves the broom – she thinks it’s her toy rather than a cleaning tool. She loved to play with her brothers but now that they are adopted she is kind of lonely!
When she wakes up, she talks to her foster parents with her eyes closed as she slowly wakes up. It is so cute! She is a very chatty little girl and is always carrying on a conversation with her foster parents.
Leslie Feist was rescued from a shelter with her brothers. She was hesitant and a bit shy at first. She is a little scared sometimes still but with reassurance she does really well. She is always out and about. She would do best in a home with other cats and without young children.

Happily Licorice has been adopted!! Cute, fluffy, LUCKY, black kitty!
Little Foot has been the only lucky kitten to be adopted from her litter. Chomper, Spike, Ducky and momma Sara are still available for adoption.
I have adopted two cats from TCR and one of them is a little black kitten. Best decision I have ever made. She is so affectionate, cuddly, chatty and loves to be picked up.
I can’t imagine not having her.
My advice: adopt one and you will definitely have a best furry friend!
I adopted an adorable black kitten, Bessie, through TCR. She was one of a litter of NINE black kittens that all survived. Bessie was the smallest but wow – was she feisty or what?! The fact that she survived is a miracle in itself. When Bessie was two months old we discovered that she had a loud heart murmur that would make it very difficult for her to be adopted. I had already fallen in love with Bessie so I took her home all the same.
She grew very slowly and had a cardiac ultrasound at eight months that showed her heart valves were not properly formed. Another miracle that she was still with us! Once she started to go into heat it became obvious that Bessie needed to be spayed soon! With special anaesthetic care through our wonderful vet, Dr. Gewarter, Bessie pulled through the surgery. Miracle number three!
My neighbour upstairs has a big lazy neutered Tom cat that is twice the size of Bessie. She loves to provoke him into playing tag and chasing after her. Bessie doesn’t know that she is small and has a heart issue. She is just a lovely little creature that wanted a chance at life and is enjoying it to the utmost. Yes, my cat is black, petite and she has a heart murmur. She is also feisty, mischievous and loving. Yaay for Bessie!
Stupidstition be damned- black cats are just The Ultimate Awesomeness- for numerous reasons. Including:
If you wear a lot of black clothes, and have a fair amount of dark hardwood floors, and dark furniture (like all the cool people do
), you hardly ever see any rogue furs on them- and neither does anybody else. less time spent faffing about with clothes brushes and sticky tape = more time for kitty cuddles and the eating of chocolate. win win.
Plus, they have additional powers of ninjaness beyond the usual posessed by kitties- when they’re slinking through the hall at night, lurking on top of the fridge in the unlit kitchen, hiding under the bed, snoozing on your sock pile in the back of the closet, etc, all they gotta do is close their eyes and poof- they vanish. How cool is that? Very.
Also, they’re so incredibly grateful for the second chance they’ve been given, that they tend to be very very loving and appreciative little creatures- and on the off-chance that they’re not all sweetness and light- they make a perfect looking little fuzzy cranky goblin- especially when those white fangs just peek out, and they let out a nice big “MWARK!!!’.
As a bonus: You can give them the best names. Snowflake, Pearl, Ebony, Sooty, Java, 8-ball, Midnight, Bramble, Storm, Ace (Of Spades), Licorice, Vader (or Darth), Tiddles, Jack, Dipstick (works especially well for white footed or tail-tipped black cats), Felix, Midnight, Inky, MisterMcNinjapants, Salem, Lightning (would work wonderfully on a cat with a little white stripe or two, like our lovely young Louis here: http://www.adoptapet.com/pet5045477.html … and so on. Not that they’ll likely come running when you call unless you’re waving a bag of treats, but still, names are fun to think up.
Good for you… Black kitties are just as loving and sweet as any others. The two that I have had in my lifetime have just been total sucks… They adore their people. GO BLACK GO!!
