Thanks to the generosity of Petsmart, Pet Valu, Cosmopawlitan Pet Boutique + Spa, Pet Uno and Muddy Paws in the Guild Toronto Cat Rescue is able to feature our foster cats in different pet stores in Toronto, the GTA, and Kitchener.
TCR does not use pet stores as a shelter; instead they act as a temporary placement to give cats extra exposure, increasing their chances of being adopted. Visit the kitties in-store today!

There is Pet Valu store on the Queensway, near Islington, that has recently remodeled and is quite large. Not sure if anyone has checked out store as a possible location, but it might be a good one to look into.
I saw that there is a new petsmart opening in Etobicoke right across the street from Sherway. It looks pretty big, is there any chance TCR will be able to affiliate with this new store too????

Hi Jo Ann, Please understand that if you as a volunteer are having issues, then we don’t want to add to the public’s confusion by having out of date listings on the site as well. We are working towards a better in-store posting policy, making sure each cat at the store is labeled with their name and bio when they enter the store, but again with the high turn over, it isn’t always possible. We greatly appreciate our volunteers, and we know the kitties love the visits and the cuddles! For adopters, the Adoption Coordinators always have the current list of cats at each store, so feel free to contact them if you would like to know which kitties are at a certain location, or more information on a cat being fostered at one of our awesome locations.
That’s a real shame. I miss that feature because as a volunteer as it helped me to figure out who was who at the store, since the signage at store level is almost always partially wrong, missing or out of date. Using both the website and the signage I could figure out which cats were which, most of the time.
We no longer will be listing which cats are at each store location – the cats move in and out of the stores frequently and, honestly, the website was not always up to date with the changes. We don’t want potential adopters driving to a store to find the cat they were planning to visit has moved to a foster home, or has been adopted. If you would like to know which cats are currently at a specific store location, please feel free to email: tcr.adoptions@hotmail.com as the adoption coordinators know the up-to-date status of all our cats.
