When you adopt a cat from Toronto Cat Rescue you save two lives; the one you adopt and the one you make room for.
TO ADOPT: please call TCR’s adoption line: (416) 538-8592, press 1 and leave a message / email, include your name & phone number: tcr.adoptions@hotmail.com / fill in the online form below.
Our adoption fee is $175. Each cat has a two week assessment period in their foster home before being available for adoption. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the medical attention they need and we learn about their personalities, likes & dislikes. Our fee includes: spay or neuter, vaccination (receive a rabies vaccination, if age appropriate) and includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance.

I called and emailed TCR and they emailed me within 15 minutes. I was very surprised at how fast they responded. They called on that same evening and approved me
. I’m still trying to get in touch with the foster parent as she hasn’t been picking up her phone. I hope, hope and hope to meet her and the kitten.
Thank you TCR volunteers for your time with finding forever homes for cats.
Anyone that works with or volunteers their time to help animals in need is to be thanked – there should be a day for you wonderful people. Without you, I wouldn’t have “Mooch” who is doing well & thriving, should anyone remember him. Bless you all for your good work, I hope you know how wonderful a thing you are doing!
I would just like to thank all the volunteers at TRC..I think they do a great job and they give their time to the cats who are in such desperate need. Every time they adopt a cat another cat can be saved..and isnt that what it’s all about? They are a no-kill no profit all volunteer program and that means every one of these cats are loved and never have to be one of thousands that are euthanized every day from no fault of their own. Instead of complaining thank them everyday..they are truly “Earth Angels”.
P.S. I was so happy to hear that Gizmo finally has a for-ever home..God Bless the people that have given him a for-ever home.

Hi TCR I am wondering if the cat’s are well trained you know so they know what they are supposed to be doing their do’s and don’ts
I have had cats all my life and there is one thing that you can count on in my experience, you can NOT train a cat. They basically train you! You can re-enforce cetain behaviours, such as a cat scratching on your furniture but you have to have a lot of scratching posts around unless you get a cat who is de-clawed. And TCR has a few of those but if you adopt a cat with claws you have to agree NOT to de-claw it because its a cruel pratice. Cats instictively go to their litter boxes unless they aren’t cleaned out on a regular basis. But training a cat is hard depending what you what it not to do. I suggest you think long and hard before you decide to get a cat……this is just my opinion as a private person.
I adopted tiger yesterday in kitchener, I had a call back within one hour for the screening, thank you for being so quick to respond! she fits in like she’s been part of the family for years
Happy to save a life
I called TCR for weeks now and I STILL haven’t received a phone call back. I left 3 messages and sent an e-mail. I really want to give a cat a lovely home, but the staff aren’t doing their job: CALLING THEIR CUSTOMERS! TCR must be busy with adoption responsibilities, but you can’t keep your customers waiting. If you find my message, please call me back. I would like to own a cat. Thank you.
Hello – Please note that Toronto Cat Rescue is 100% volunteer, with no paid staff. We truly appreciate all our adopters, and we are sorry that there has been a delay in getting in contact with you. Please call or email us with a time that is suitable for your phone interview (all of our volunteers have full-time responsibilities, so please suggest a couple of times).
Hi Raffaele,
I received two of your phone calls, both of which I phoned you back right away. Your phone rang and rang with no VM set up. I was unable to leave you a message. In your messages left, you had hung up mid-sentence a few times, and then left another message. I never received an email from you. I would have written you back to advise you that I could not get ahold of you.
We are all volunteers, and we try our best to get back to adopters quickly. I’m sorry we are not able to reach you, but we DID try to get ahold of you many times.
Hi, I called TCR today, on a Sunday and was called back within 5 minutes, the lady on the phone was very helpful and I was really impressed with their customer service. We are planning to go the adoptathon in a couple of weeks, thanks.
